Dress Code and House Rules
Dress (in the Clubhouse)
Lounge and Dining Room
- Smart casual dress must be worn at all times
- Tailored shorts may be worn
- Sports socks must be predominantly white and cover the ankle
- Shirts may
not be worn outside trousers
- Turtle neck style shirts may be worn

No golf shoes, trainers, denim or tracksuits may be worn

No golf caps or golf equipment allowed
- No facial or head jewellery may be worn
Henry Howell (Spikes) Bar
- All golf clothing sanctioned for use on the course, apart from golf caps and rainwear, may be worn
- Shorts may be worn, including spikes

Dress (on the golf course)
- GENTLEMEN
- No denim, tracksuits or trainers.
- Shirts must have sleeves and collars, and may not be worn outside trousers.
- Turtle neck style shirts are allowed
- Rugby and football style shirts are not allowed
- Tennis, football, rugby, beach, cropped or combat style shorts may not be worn.
- Shorts must be tailored and knee length.
- Sports socks must be predominantly white and cover the ankle
- Trouser bottoms may not be tucked into socks
- Facial or head jewellery is not allowed

Members and visitors are encouraged to wear soft spikes

LADIES
- No denims, tracksuits or trainers
- Shirts/ tops must have collars, but may be sleeveless
- Shirts/tops may be worn outside trousers/shorts
- Shorts must be tailored and knee length
- Tennis, beach or combat style shorts may not be worn
- Foot socks when worn, must be predominantly white
- Cropped trousers may be worn
- Trouser bottoms may not be tucked into socks
- Combat style trousers may not be worn
- Members and visitors are encouraged to wear soft spikes
Mobile Phones
Phones may not be used or turned on in the lounge, mens bar or snooker room.
Mobiles may be used in all other areas, both inside and outside the perimeter of the clubhouse.
On the golf course - visitors are asked to switch off their mobile phones whilst on the golf course. Phones may be used on the course only in emergencies.
If any of your playing partners use a mobile phone on the course - please remind him/her of this rule.
Visiting Group/Society leaders are requested to ensure that all participants are aware of all of the above rules. The Glamorganshire Golf Club reserves the right to ask visitors not adhering to leave the course and / or clubhouse.

Please note that Local Rule No 6 on the back of the scorecard has been re-written for clarity.
"A ball resting on that part of a bridge within the margins of the hazard is in the hazard. The player may ground his club.
That part of the bridge outside the margins of the hazard is an immovable Obstruction. Rule 24-2 applies
Penalty for breach of Local Rule: Match play- Loss of hole: Stroke play - two strokes"

This amended rule clarifies the position where the ball might end up on the bridge when playing the 6th or 8th holes.
You are allowed to ground your club on the bridge when that part of the bridge is within the boundary of the hazard.

The Glamorganshire Golf Club has considered its responsibilities to the children participating in golf at our premises and within our Club very carefully, and has produceda Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. This Policyunderpins proceduresand sets out standards we wish to uphold in providing activities for children and safeguarding the welfare of children in our care.
The Glamorganshire Golf Club affiliates to the Golf Union of Wales and our professional coaching staff are members of the Professional Golfers’ Association. The Club recognises the policies of these Governing Bodies, as set out in Guidelines for Safeguarding Children in Golf (CiG).
